KAV BIOGRAPHY
KAV is a UK Artist, based between London & LA. He released his debut EP in April 2008 on London Buzz imprint ‘This Feeling’ with rave reviews from the UK & International press. He released his follow up Double-A-Side single Soul Kid/ Rock Chick in October. Since then he has made an impact on the music scenes in London & LA, and has received great radio support with Kerrang Radio/ XFM/ Q Radio/ BBC Asian Network. He has just signed a world-wide publishing deal in Los Angeles, and one of his tracks has recently been featured in an Hollywood Film which premiered in May.
KAV spent the early part of 2009 in Los Angeles, recording his debut Album “Rise Of The Clowns” with producer Josh Ostrander ( from Philadelphia/ LA-based band Eastern Conference Champions). The album is due out in October 2009 in the UK, Euope, USA, Japan & Australia.
HISTORY
KAV has a colourful history. After achieving relative success with previous musical projects, at the age of 24 he joined legendary Mancunian band “Happy Mondays” on guitar, and toured internationally with the band. KAV was described in the press as “the man who’s helped me Smile Again” by singer Shaun Ryder & the band went on to co-write new album Unkle Dysfunktional, the first album in 13 years with original members Shaun and Gaz Whelan. KAV also co-wrote single Playground Superstar, title track for Hollywood Film GOAL, which was released on Big Brother Records (Noel & Liam Gallagher – OASIS’s Label). KAV left the Mondays after V festival 2007, to launch his solo career.
Prior to the Happy Mondays KAV launched GETLOADED ‘One of the most successful London club nights to date’ (The Guardian 2005). Guests included Peter Hook / Carl Barat (Libertines/ DirtyPrettyThings) / Howard Marks/ Client / BetaBand/ Mani (Primal Scream/Stone Roses)/ Clint Boon, The Smiths & the legendary Tony Wilson. ‘GETLOADED IN THE PARK’ is now a long-running 20,000 capacity sell-out festival. Kav runs regular ‘EDJ’ parties in London & is putting plans in place to launch EDJ internationally in 2009.
KAV is also the former guitarist from the legendary UK band Happy Mondays from 2004–2007 (when he reformed the band for his 20,000 capacity sell-out UK festival GETLOADED IN THE PARK. KAV subsequently toured the world with the Mondays, including Coachella Festival & co-wrote their first album in 13 years, including the title track for Hollywood Film GOAL.
