Bio
When I was a senior in high school, I decided I wanted to learn to play guitar for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes group I was going to be leading. I told my dad, and he came home with a loaner acoustic from the music store that was a tenant in one of his shopping centers. I’m sure he thought it wouldn’t last, but I took the guitar, went into my room, layed it on my bed, and prayed, “God, if you’ll teach me to play, I’ll play for you.” During the year that followed, I played until my fingers bled, consumed with a hunger to learn more. I supposed I tried to play for God, but in looking back, it was really self-righteousness. I was trying to save the world.
Now, my aims are much less lofty. I feel like a pretty lousy Christian, but I am hanging in there. As far as music, I just want to write, sing, and play. And I do hope that someone out there hears something in my music that they can connect with. I am not trying to make any money. I really don’t think I am nearly good enough to do that.
But I do think my songs are honest, and perhaps there is some value in that. I post lyrics and other personal tidbits on my blog. Hope you will check it out, and I hope you like the music.
