SOLOBOB is the solo project of Rooney’s lead singer, Robert Schwartzman. Robert created the name “Solobob” during high school while making home recordings. According to Robert, “this project isn’t only about the music and the beats, it’s about the visuals. I like the colorful, energetic, electric, infectious, neonic, bubonic side of music.” He is the son of producer Jack Schwartzman and actress Talia Shire. His brother is Jason Schwartzman, who is also an actor, former drummer of the band Phantom Planet, and the sole member of his own band, Coconut Records. He has acted in the short black and white film ‘Lick the Star’ and in ‘The Virgin Suicides’ (both directed and co-written by his cousin Sofia Coppola), as well as playing Michael Moscovitz in ‘The Princess Diaries’.
